![]() You gotta give Roadrunner a hand, as most soundtracks of this ilk contain nothing more than a plethora of previously released tracks that most folks probably already own on other albums in their collection. Jason soundtrack is rife with no less than 14 of the 20 tracks having never been released before. Released by Roadrunner Records, perhaps the label most single-handedly responsible for keeping bristling metal soniference on the radar screens, the Freddy Vs. Jason, which just happens to pit two of cinema's most recognizable horror villains against one another, is rippling with heavy metal thunder, at least in terms of the soundtrack. As can be expected, the tour de force film Freddy Vs. ![]() ![]() Whatever the case may be, in the past decade modern rock and roll has become the quintessential soundtrack for any film in which a bunch of "rebel" teens finds themselves at the mercy of a demented killer, a supernatural force of evil, or a legendary monster that hungers fresh blood. Perhaps it's because rock and roll has long been mystified as "the devil's music," that outsider brand of popular music that once curled the neck hairs of parents the world over. Of course I'm referring to the modern day horror film and the type of music that can usually be found attached to the accompanying soundtrack. ![]() If it ain't saturated with angst ridden "alternative" rock, then it's usually smothered in the heaviest of metal.
